In a press conference held ahead of Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League play-off match against Fredrikstad, manager Oliver Glasner addressed the ongoing transfer rumours surrounding star player Eberechi Eze.
Despite interest from clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Glasner emphasized Eze's professionalism and confirmed that the England international would start in the upcoming fixture.
Eze's Professionalism Highlighted
The comments came in response to a question from Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill, who referenced an incident during training where Eze had told the media to "give it a rest" when probed about his future.

Key Players in European Clash
The Austrian manager also revealed that both Eze and defender Marc Guehi, who has been linked with moves away from Selhurst Park, would feature prominently in the match against Fredrikstad. "Many of you were surprised that Marc and Epp started and played almost their whole game [against Chelsea]," Glasner noted, referring to Palace's recent draw with Chelsea. "Most of you will be surprised they'll start again tomorrow because of all the rumours. But again, they are committed to the team."
Commitment to Crystal Palace
He elaborated on the players' mindset, suggesting that even if a departure occurs before the transfer window closes, they aim to leave on positive terms. "They have a contract here, they want they played a crucial part and they will play a crucial part as long as they are here because they're good. They committed to the team. And when one of their players leaves... then they want leave the guys who always or the player give 100% for Crystal Palace."
Eze's Journey and Future
Eze, 27, has been a key figure for Palace since joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2020. His performances earned him a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad, and with his release clause reportedly expired, any potential transfer would now be subject to negotiations. Tottenham's interest has been widely reported, but Glasner remains focused on the present, urging fans and media not to get carried away by speculation. "This is what did since he signed many years ago, this we expect from them until end of contract whenever it's," Glasner concluded, reaffirming Eze's long-term dedication to the club.
As Palace embarks on their European campaign, Glasner's words serve as a reminder of the balance between ambition and loyalty in modern football. With the transfer window still open, Eze's future remains uncertain, but for now, his focus is firmly on contributing to the Eagles' success.
