Lucas Vázquez joins Bayer Leverkusen

Lucas Vázquez is set to join Bayer Leverkusen. The Spanish full-back confirmed the move himself to AS.
Just a few weeks ago, Vázquez said an emotional goodbye to Real Madrid after 10 seasons, five Champions League titles, and 402 appearances. The ceremony at Valdebebas was led by Florentino Pérez and filled with affection from fans. In total, he lifted 23 trophies in white, the same number as club legend Paco Gento.

After leaving Madrid as a free agent, Vázquez teased his next destination on Instagram. Posting only “Tic-tac,” he sparked speculation that his new chapter was imminent.
On Monday night, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed the agreement with Bayer Leverkusen: “Deal completed with the former Real Madrid right-back, joining as a free agent.” Shortly after, Vázquez confirmed the news himself to AS.
