Tijjani Reijnders Reveals He is Working Closely With One City Player

Tijjani Reijnders has revealed that he is working closely with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland during training sessions, as the Dutch midfielder looks to sharpen his impact in front of goal.
The Netherlands international has quickly become a fan favourite since arriving from AC Milan in the summer, bringing fresh energy to Pep Guardiola’s midfield.
Strong Start but Seeking Consistency
Reijnders enjoyed a dream Premier League debut, scoring and assisting in City’s 4-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux on the opening weekend. However, the 27-year-old has yet to add another goal contribution since that game.
Determined to improve, the Dutch star confirmed to Algemeen Dagblad he is working with Haaland on developing their attacking link-up play.
“We often talk in training about how we can best help each other. By constantly watching each other on the pitch, so we know where the spaces are. That worked well against Manchester United. A good feeling for both of us.”.

Mixed Performance in Manchester Derby
Reijnders produced moments of quality against Manchester United, but also endured frustrations—missing a one-on-one chance in the second half and misplacing several passes. Interestingly, that opportunity was created by Haaland, hinting at a growing partnership between the two players.
The Dutchman acknowledged that building chemistry with City’s star striker will take time.
“It takes time to get used to each other,” Reijnders said. “I need to get into those situations more often. Every game, I have to look for the opportunity to play a through ball. I hope I can do that more often from now on.”
Reijnders and Haaland linked up well in the season opener against Wolves, but have yet to consistently replicate that connection. With both players eager to develop their understanding, Manchester City fans may soon see a stronger attacking partnership at the Etihad.
