As Wrexham navigate their opening weeks back in the Championship after 43 years away, Phil Parkinson’s side continue to make waves in the transfer market with their pursuit of Cardiff City captain Calum Chambers. The interest in the 30-year-old represents another statement of intent from the Hollywood-backed Welsh club, who have already shattered their transfer records multiple times, during a remarkable summer of recruitment.
According to Graeme Bailey and WrexhamInsider, Wrexham remain interested in making defensive reinforcements before the window closes, with Calum Chambers one of the targets on Phil Parkinson's shopping list.
Cardiff confirmed Chambers as their new captain earlier this month, and he has started their last two games against Port Vale and Swindon Town.
Chambers still has two years left on his Cardiff contract and is a major part of Brian Barry-Murphy's plans for Cardiff's upcoming promotion campaign. However, it is reported that Chambers is keen on a return to the Championship and could receive several offers before the window slams shut, with Sheffield Utd also being rumoured to be interested in the defender.
